The wife of a former chairman of Helston Flora Day stewards has died.
Mary Jeanette Collins – better known as Jerry – died peacefully at Helston Community Hospital on Monday, aged 86.
She was well known in Helston and the surrounding area, particularly for her involvement in Flora Day, for which her husband Leslie was chairman of the stewards for many years.
In recent years she lived with her husband in Gweek.
A thanksgiving service will be held at St Martin Church this Saturday, at 3pm. There will be no flowers, but donations can be made to the Friends of Helston Community Hospital through the retiring collection or via funeral directors David Mitchell and Son in Porthleven.
Mrs Collins leaves her husband Leslie, children Ann, Peter and Sally and grandchildren David, Richard, Andrew, Sarah, Rachael and Stuart.
