LOCAL artist Debra Murfin is showing her latest collection of nudes and contemporary seascapes on Thursday, February 12, 7.30pm till late, for the pre-valentine 'sex and the sea' exhibition at Harvey's Warf, Falmouth. There will be a complementary glass of wine on arrival and buffet for hungry art enthusiasts.

Rhys Pollard- general manger of Harvey's Warf says 'We are always keen to support local artists, and Debra's work is something a little different for us to exhibit here at Harvey's! It fits in really well with the Valentines celebrations.'

Her fresh and spontaneous work is a direct lively response to her subject whether it is the body or sea. In this collection there is immediacy and involvement with both the media and subject. Debra says: “I start with a point of reference like a map, the ink is poured and then the work explodes into action from there. It exists through the mark, the movement and the line, It can be done in seconds or in days but when it works it works. It's about capturing the moment, the gesture and not a literal interpretation.”

This is her second show in Falmouth of this eclectic mix on the themes Sex and the Sea.

There is something for everyone here from luscious luminous seascapes to expressive nudes. Debra's enthusiastic work is always something dynamic and a little different locally. Don't miss this opportunity to view Debra's exciting new work in a ambient waterside venue.
