All 180 entries are in and it is now up to residents to decide which design they would like to see become the official flag for Falmouth.

Following a competition run in conjunction with Falmouth town council and town manager David Pollard, all 180 designs created by children, adults and students are now on display above the stairs of the Municipal Buildings on The Moor.

It is now down to members of the public to create a shortlist of the best ten entries, which will then go before a panel of judges to select an overall winner.

An additional, special prize winner will also be selected from all the designs created by schoolchildren and students.

Nomination forms are available next to the exhibition of designs and members of the public have until Saturday, February 28 to select their shortlist.

Falmouth mayor Mike Varney said: “The display of flags looks fantastic. It is great to see the wealth of design talent from all ages and community groups in the town.”

David Pollard, Falmouth town manager, agreed: “The council is most grateful to the people of Falmouth for the wonderful designs they have created. It will be truly amazing to see the winning flag flying over the town for years to come.” See some of the flag designs in next week’s Packet.
