Schoolchildren across Helston and the Lizard Peninsula are taking part in a competition over the next ten weeks to recycle as many old Yellow Pages directories as possible.
Pupils across the whole of the Kerrier district have entered the Yellow Woods Challenge, at the end of which Yellow Pages will award a total of £600 to schools that recycle the highest number of directories per pupil.
Competing schools receive free educational packs to teach children about the environment.
The competition is being run in partnership with the Woodland Trust, Recycle for Cornwall and Kerrier district council, from February 1 until March 3.
