People living in Helston have until tomorrow to say where they want the parish boundaries to lie.
Their decision will effect their voting in local elections and which councillors manage their issues.
The Boundary Committee for England has currently created three wards in the town: Helston north, Helston central and Porthleven and Helston south.
The changes were put in place ahead of the Cornwall Council elections back in June.
Some people were unhappy with the changes in Helston, however, and the boundary committee has agreed to reconsider its decision before implementing it permanently.
Chris Dawson, clerk to Helston town council, said: "We feel there shouldn't be a share between Porthleven and Helston. We think it should be the other side of the town, with part of Helston with Wendron and Sithney."
The town council is running a campaign called "Helston needs its own voice" and is encouraging everyone in the town to sign a petition in the council offices, to show the boundary committee the support for the proposed new arrangement.
