An appeal to bring a new lifeboat to the RNLI station at The Lizard is attracting help from around the country.
Three people from Solihull in the West Midlands are to walk 100 miles along the coastal path from Falmouth to Land’s End to raise money for the appeal.
They plan to walk from January 23 to January 30 and they are looking for sponsorship and also places to stay along the route.
Among the trio is Stuart Mann, who will be carrying out the walk as part of training for the 14 Peak Challenge in Wales next March.
He is a marine engineer and spends around 18 weeks of the year in Cornwall with his work. He has also carried out training at Coverack’s windsurfing centre and has many friends in the area whose livelihood is the sea.
“Apart from anything else, there’s only one lifeboat on the whole of the Lizard Peninsula,” he added.
