Volunteer crewmembers of the Lizard Lifeboat took part in an eight-hour rescue last night.
Falmouth coastguards called for their help just after 5.50pm yesterday. They were sent to help the two crewmembers onboard the fishing boat Red Vixen from Fowey, which had got into difficulties through a snagged propeller.
They were 28 miles off Lizard Point at the time.
It took the Lizard crew two and a half hours to reach the fishing boat but with good sea conditions they managed to tow the Red Vixen into Falmouth in the early hours of this morning.
They then returned to the station at around 2.30am.
