Truro CITY 2 LEAMINGTON 2 TRURO City are still searching for their first win at Treyew Road since August after Leamington’s Chris Murphy came off the bench to deny the home side victory.
The result further halts City’s promotion push leaving them 12 points off a play-off place in the Zameretto Southern Premier League.
The game couldn’t have started better for the home side as Andy Watkins went down under challenge from Leamington keeper Chris Kiely. Barry McConnell stepped up to score the resulting penalty.
Truro, who included new signings Andy Lindegaard and Aaron Brown in defence, had the better of the first half possession but chances for either side were at a premium.
City best first half opportunity came just before the break as Kyle Tooze dispossessed Scott Lycett on half way and ran clear. However his lobbed shot over Kiely shot was too high.
Leamington started the second half brighter and were soon on level terms. Luke Corbett played a ball into the feet of Mark Bellingham who turned his marker in the box before rolling a shot into the bottom corner for his 23rd goal of the season. However, another recent signing for Truro then restored their lead after coming off the bench. A long ball upfield by keeper Martin Rice found Marvin Brown who quickly ran onto the ball before coolly slotting it past the advancing Kiely from just inside the area.
It was another substitute who then equalised for Leamington as Murphy curled a right-footed drive past Rice with ten minutes left.
Leamington went closest to winning the match in the closing stages when Aaron Brown almost diverted a cross into his own net.
