An important chapter of RNLI history will end tomorrow when the Lizard lifeboat makes its final journey down the slipway.
The Tyne Class lifeboat on the Lizard is to be replaced with a Tamer Class lifeboat, while the station at Kilcobben Cove is scheduled for demolition, with a replacement to be built.
The Tyne will remain on service at The Lizard throughout the project to build the new station but move to a mooring.
Depending on the weather, the boat will either lie just off Cadgwith or at Polpeor Cove outside the old boathouse. In very bad weather conditions she will be moved to Falmouth.
More details are this week's Packet, out now.
