A new food bank helping to feed people in need is being launched in Camborne, Pool and Redruth on Sunday, May 23.
The new CPR Foodbank run by the churches together project in and around Camborne will see volunteers distribute food to families going through financial or emotional problems.
Rev Mike Firbank described the food bank as a hand up and not a hand out.
“A food bank gives three days of nutritionally balanced food and support to people experiencing emotional or financial crisis with food boxes that contain three days worth of non-perishable food.
“Anyone in need and anyone refereed to us by the public. It’s free and it comes with no condition, no literature, no catch. This is part of a national initiative where churches collect food from churches and supermarkets in order to support people in need.”
CPR Foodbank will be launched in Camborne Town Square at 6pm.
