WOMEN in Falmouth are being warned to be on their guard after a man driving a Mercedes car approached two females on two separate occasions and attempted to engage them in conversation.
Falmouth police first received a report during the morning of Wednesday, August 2 that the driver of a cream coloured Mercedes motorcar had approached a woman within the town and attempted to engage her in a conversation.
The woman was uncomfortable with the approach and left the area where she later spoke with a police officer.
Police received a further report at around 5pm on Thursday, August 3, 2006, that the driver of what was thought to be the same vehicle drove near to a girl walking in Melvill Road.
He again attempted to engage the girl in conversation and asked her to approach the vehicle. She refused and went home to report the incident.
Officers are asking residents to be vigilant of this vehicle and report any attempts made by the driver to approach pedestrians.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police quoting log 998 030806 on telephone 08452 777 444.
