THE Mabe School summer fete was "incredibly well" attended with over £1,600 being raised to help with activities for the pupils.
Nick Illsley, headteacher, said: "It went incredibly well, lots of parents showed up and gave their support. We raised £1,648 which will help subsidise trips for the children and other activities during the next school year."
In blazing sunshine children performed dances as well as performances form the school's choir and recorder groups.
Other activities included snail racing, guess how many balloons are in the car, stocks and various stalls.
Children also made a human fruit machine, where three children sat in booths with a tray of fruit and they each picked one up. If they all picked up the same fruit the person playing won a prize.
