AN ama-i-zing maize maze is pulling in the punters in a field near Maenporth, and dairy farmer Roger Williams believes it is the biggest in Cornwall.
Roger, who farms at Meudon Farm, decided to put his 12 acre maize field to good use after a friend visited a similar set up on the Isle of Wight.
In these days of diversification Mr Williams worked out, with his consultant, a maize for one of his fields and then took about a week constructing it.
The maze opened on August 1 and attracted over 150 visitor in its first three days, many of them getting happily lost for an hour and a half, working out from the clues where to go next.
"Because we are being told by Government and other organisation to diversify then we thought this would be a good idea," said Mr Williams, who has three children himself.
"A friend of mine and his family went on holiday to the Isle of White there was one there and they spoke to the farmer who said it was a good money spinning idea so we thought we'd give it a go."
Local businesses are also joining in to promote it, including the Maenporth Beach caf and Glendurgan Gardens, which has it's own, smaller, maze.
The maze will be open until September when the maize will be harvested.
