Cornwall u17s lost their two-day County Championship game with Hertfordshire at Falmouth on first innings.
The visitors made 396 for 9 declared. Herts slumped from 176 for 1 to 265 for 8, but Cornwall's bowlers were unable to press home their advantage as they allowed the last two wickets to add 97 in relatively quick time before the declaration. It left the Cornish batsmen to face the last two overs of the day, during which time they lost the big wickets of Angove and Dan Davis.
The second day saw a splendid recovery, with the Cornish batsmen, showing great character to reach 303.
In a second innings, played for bonus points, Hertfordshire made 83 for 5.
