Two bank holiday concerts being held at Pendennis Castle are forcing residents in the area to go without parking outside their properties.
Gigs by the internationally famous Status Quo and Westlife are being held in the grounds of Pendennis Castle on August 26 and 27.
An extra 6,000 people are expected to be in Falmouth and police have issued residents of Castle Close, Hamilton Place and Castle Drive with letters telling them to move their cars from the roads for the weekend.
Sergeant Emma Fox, of Falmouth Police, said: "The restrictions are necessary for health and safety reasons, and for park-and-ride schemes set up by concert organisers."
She added that she "did not anticipate any problems" regarding the large numbers of people in Falmouth and that she "appreciated the disruption" caused to residents of the affected areas.
Ice-cream sellers voiced fears that the closures to the car parks at the point would damage their business during what is usually a very busy time. However, Jean Brody, who runs the Castle Crest guesthouse, said she thought the weekend would be a "good thing as it brings in so many people to the area."
Park and ride schemes will be operating throughout the weekend to take people to the concerts.
