Following a year of fundraising an opticians in Redruth has raised £1,180 for three charities.
Specsavers in Fore Street will split the funds between Brain Tumour UK, Penhaligon's Friends and the Handstand Appeal.
Lucy Eva, store director, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all of our customers for their generosity in helping us to achieve our fundraising goal. The Camborne Round Table group deserve a special mention as they kindly made a substantial donation.
“We are delighted to have raised such a terrific amount of money for three great causes. The Penhaligon’s Friends charity is based here in Redruth and came into store to personally collect their cheque, which we were delighted to present.”
The fundraising began last year with a Valentine’s Day competition, which saw two lucky winners receive cinema tickets, chocolates, a cuddly toy and £250 vouchers.
Since then the store has held various cake bakes, raffles, fancy dress days, competitions and more throughout the year to raise money.
