Helston Sports Centre is inviting those who are serious about their fitness to get into training and prepare to take part in a challenging triathlon.
The centre is hosting the Helston Triathlon on June 5, in which participants will take part in a 400m swim in the swimming pool, a 16.5 mile bike ride on an undulating course and top it all off with a 3.5 mile run.
Community leisure officer Ceri Harvey said: “This is the seventh Helston Triathlon and it is growing in popularity with over 250 finishers last year. Triathlon is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and is in the Olympic programme for 2012 so we are hoping for a lot of interest.
“The event is suitable for novices and there are options for relay teams too. For those who want to be involved in this community event but for whatever reason can’t enter as competitors, we are looking for marshals to help out on the day all along the route.”
All finishers will receive an event T-shirt and the closing date for entries is May 20, with an entry limit of 300 competitors.
