The new Cornwall councillor for the Wendron ward is Mebyon Kernow's Loveday Jenkin.
She polled 427 voted in the election, which was held yesterday.
Four other candidates stood for election, with Liberal Democrat John Martin polling 262 votes, Independent Philip Martin receiving 177, Conservetaive Linda Taylor gaining 227 and Robert Webber taking 80 votes for Labour.
The turnout was 27.84%
