Wintery weather was causing havoc in Penryn this afternoon, when falling ice forced the closure of a major road.
Network Rail had requested the closure of Treliever Road, which runs underneath the railway bridge near to Penryn train station, after icicles started coming loose and falling from the bridge at 1.30pm.
The police set up a road block either side of the area affected because there had been "concern expressed that it could be hazardous to both pedestrians and vehicles," a spokesperson said.
The road was reopened by 3.15pm, after the ice was cleared.
