A DILAPIDATED Falmouth church has been given a new lease of life thanks to the hard work of volunteers and a donation from a local councillor.
Members of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Penwerris gave the Laburnum Drive building a new coat of paint inside and out with the help of £500 from councillor Dave Saunby's Community Chest fund.
The money allowed the parishioners to buy paint and brushes, and members of the church set about the task of giving the hall a complete facelift.
Mr Saunby said: “The appearance of the hall has been completely transformed, and is a credit to those church members who have worked so hard, not just the painting, but also the hedge trimming and grass cutting.
“Hopefully now with its new look, it will attract more organisations to make use of the facilities it has to offer. They have really done a great job.”
Among the church members who worked tirelessly on the halls re-instatement were David Banks, Mary Miller, Mike Parry, Betty Collins, and the late Bill Collins.
