FALMOUTH Art Gallery has joined forces with Mount Hawke Youth Group to stage a stunning display of street art and skating culture.
The Urban Uprising exhibition which opens on March 30 and runs until April 25 features artworks by Banksy, D*Face and Blek Le Rat among others.
Members of Mount Hawke Youth Group have worked alongside the gallery’s exhibition team to plan and install the show. They came up with the main theme which is to explore how what began as subversive art and culture has been embraced by mainstream society.
The gallery has secured some exciting loans for the exhibition with a number of key works by Banksy, including pieces of his early ‘Rat Race’ graffiti.
Visitors will also be able to see a selection of rare skateboards and stickers plus stencil art by Eelus, Mysterious Al and Stendec.
The exhibition will be accompanied a series of free street art inspired workshops for families: with Subbaculture on April 4 from 11am to 3pm and Street Steez on April 10 from 11am to 3pm.
Visitors to the gallery will also be able to see The World of Woodroffe exhibition which runs until April 18.
Falmouth Art Gallery is open from Monday to Friday 10am to 5 , admission free.
