SATURDAY saw a total of 120 members tee it up at Falmouth Golf Club for PGA professional, Nick Rogers day, writes Keith Rashleigh.
The winner of the Men's competition was Chris Beer who played solidly throughout his round to card nines of 23 and 18 points including a birdie at the 11th for a winning total of 41 points.
Runner-up was Grant Nichols with a steady front nine of 18 points before putting together a good 22 points on the back nine to take second place with 40 points. Third was Adam Pryor also with 40 points with nines of 21 and 19. He had birdies at the 3rd and 12th holes but unluckily had two blanks on his card at the 9th and 12th holes.
There was a plethora of two's from Martin McGee. Ashley Bennett. Kris Mazumder and Richard Wilkins at the 2nd. Paul Kneebone. Simon Anderson at the 4th. Steve Thomas. Dave Holland. Chris Pellow. Simon Minter and Charlie Berry at the 7th and finally Bob Pine at the 18th.
There were 50 birdies recorded with the easiest hole being the 2nd at an average of + 0.47 while the most difficult was the 17th which averaged + 1.49.
The Ladies section was well won by Maisie Drewett with 37 points with respective nines of 19 and 18 points. Maisie had birdies at the 11th and 17th holes. Runner up with 32 points ( 17 & 15 ) was Letitia Rivett-Old. Third place went to Brenda Arch with 31 points ( 16 & 15 ).
The Junior section saw a narrow win for Harry Collins from Rory Kennedy. Both players scored 25 points and Harry won thanks to the countback.
