Truro and Penwith College help Redruth Rugby Club impress in their new kit Truro and Penwith College is once again giving its backing to the future of sport in Cornwall by sponsoring Redruth Rugby Club for the 2017/18 season.
Players from Redruth Rugby Club unveiled their new kit to the college’s sport team leader, Vicky Pearson, this week. The College has a long partnership with rugby in Cornwall and Redruth Rugby Club as many of the Club’s young players study at the College.
“We are delighted to continue our backing of grassroots sport in Cornwall by again sponsoring Redruth Rugby Club for what promises to be an exciting season,” said Vicky.
“As with our Rugby Academy at the College, which supports up-coming players from across Cornwall, we understand the importance of good support from coaches both on and off the field so we wanted to help endorse this within community clubs.”
Amy Nolan, general manager for Redruth Rugby Club said: “Sponsorship from various local businesses is what the club relies on. We have strong links with the coaches at Truro College’s Rugby Academy who in turn have coached senior rugby here at Redruth RFC, with Truro College tutor Gareth Tedstone as an assistant coach this season.
“Most of our young players attend Truro College and as a combined outfit we have access to some great young and inspiring talent. Long may the link continue.”
