The summer league of the Cornwall County Short Mat Bowling Association (CCSMBA) is now well underway.

A total of 12 teams played out the first round of fixtures last week.

As per the format, the teams are split into two regional divisions, the winners of each will compete for the County Summer League title in August.

The first week saw matches across the Summer West and East divisions.

Summer West Thursday, May 23 - St Newlyn 18-6 Withiel Elms Friday, May 24 - Luxulyan Cheetahs 11-21 Luxulyan Panthers Sunday, May 26 - Helston 21-4 Lizard Triples

Summer East Tuesday, May 21 - Blisland 23-5 Boscastle Wednesday, May 22 - Luxulyan Tigers 31-5 St Minver Thursday, May 23 - Dobwalls 9-17 Luxulyan Apes

The CCSMBA also released the County Points list.

Peter Hore of Holmans topped the list with 98 points over the last three seasons.

He is closely followed by his teammate, Elise Daniell, who collected 88 points.

Nigel Nicholls from Newlyn Trinity secured the third position with 80 points.

Bowlers who achieved notable positions in the Top 10 include John Worton, Sandra Worton, and Steve Smith, all from the St Newlyn East team.

They cemented the 4th, 5th, and 6th positions with 76, 70, and 66 points, respectively.
