County 1
Penzance 103 Stithians 104-6

After the opening day defeat at Gorran Stithians have responded well to win successive games.
This win at St Clare will no doubt give a boost for the season ahead.  Penzance had some early shocks as Glyn Furnival reduced them to 24 for three.

Opener Leigh Murray made a useful 30 but got little support as wickets fell regularly.
Jonathan Whitaker’s 18 not out, that included a six, saw the hundred up. Callum Martin’s five for 36 saw the last six wickets fall for 33 runs.

Furnival ended with three for 33. Stithians also had early problems losing openers Adam and Nathan Strick at 22.

John Millership (16) and double figures from Furnival (11) and Andrew Lean (11) guided the visitors towards their target before Martin (10no) and Ben Tann (18no) put on an unbroken 26 for the seventh wicket.

Victory came in the 31st over. Kyle Moyle and Jonny Ludlam took two wickets each for the home side. Stithians have a tough game on Saturday with Newquay the visitors.

Troon 205-7 Perranarworthal 127

In a game reduced to 47 overs Toby Whiteford made 22 for Troon before Ian Goldsworthy’s 40 saw the hundred up, before he was dismissed at 115-5.
