FALMOUTH 169 all out

CAMBORNE 69 all out

Falmouth won by 72 runs

Another sparkling performance with bat and ball from Antony Angove helped league leaders Falmouth cruise to victory against highly-rated Camborne at Trescobeas on Saturday.

The all-rounder top-scored with 44, before he tore through the Camborne batting order.

He was ably assisted by Justin Stephens, who chipped in with figures of 3 for 19, but not for the first time this season it was Angove who stole the show.

Falmouth made a modest start, with openers Richard Kellow (11) and Stefan Churcher (1) giving up their wickets cheaply before Angove took to the crease.

He put some much needed runs on the board, helping Falmouth to 169 all out off 51 overs.

But if Falmouth started poorly, Camborne's response was nothing short of disastrous.

The home side's bowling attack tore through Camborne's top order, reducing the visitors to 40 for 8 before tail ender Jefry Carvelly put 13 on the board to give the score a veneer of respectability.

But it was little more than that. Falmouth were dominant, Camborne all out for 69, with Angove registering figures of 5 for 27, and Stephens 3 for 19 in a comprehensive victory that cements their place at the top of the table.
