Helston manager Sid Taylor says he expects to know more about which players will remain at Kellaway Parc after next week.
Blues players Liam Eddy, Charlie Young, and Mark Goldsworthy all turned out for Truro City during their friendly against Crewe Alexandra last week, with Eddy getting his name on the score sheet.
And after the game City manager Steve Massey was full of praise for Eddy, who he described as having “done himself all sorts of favours.”
During last night's friendly against Plymouth Argyle Eddy was Truro's stand out performer, with his display missing only a goal.
And yet more than a week after first turning out for Truro their futures remain uncertain.
But with rumours flying around on internet fan forums, the off-season's longest running soap opera looks set to finally come to a head in the next few days.
"I never get involved with forum stuff to be honest, but I think a decision will be coming soon," said Taylor (pictured), "I'm quietly confident that they'll stay, but we'll just have to wait and see."
Noises coming out of Treyew Road suggest that Eddy may be the only one of the trio offered a deal by Truro, but even if an offer were made, Taylor is not convinced the striker would make the move.
"No, I'm not sure Liam would go, not with the way he was treated up there before, but we'll know more after next week."
Meanwhile Taylor said he believed new signings Kevin Lawrence and Frazer Cadman would provide competition for places in an already strong Helston squad.
"Kevin comes with a wealth of experience - especially at this level - and Frazer was at Porthleven when I was down there. He's another one with a lot of experience. He likes to get on the ball and pass it around a bit. Everyone's going to be pushing for places and that gives people a bit of a lift."
But the Blues boss said that despite already being touted as pre-season favourites to win promotion, he expected the league to be tough.
"I think it could be much harder than people think," he said.
"Sticker and St Dennis are going to improve, Bude are an unknown force. It's not going to be easy at all."
