WENDRON UNITED will face the might of Cornwall Senior Cup holders Bodmin Town at Under Lane on Saturday, as Paul Murray’s side bid for a place in the semi-finals, kick off 3pm.
The ‘dron have been in scintillating form this season, and are challenging for promotion from the Jolly’s Cornwall Combination league.
But Darren Gilbert’s Bodmin, flying high in the Peninsula League premier divisionm, are a very different proposition, and are exepcted to progress.
Speaking to the Packet ahead of the game, Murray said he was realistic about Wendron’s chances, but he and his players were determnined to give a good account of themselves.
He said: “I think the lads are really looking forward to it. It’s a big occasion for them and for the club to welcome a side as good as Bodmin, but we haven’t really got any expectation of winning it because they’ll beat us nine times out of ten.
"But the lads are fired up and they won’t give Bodmin an easy ride, that’s for sure.”
