One of Hayle Runners' younger members has been awarded the club’s trophy for its most improved female runner.
Hannah Smith, 18 (pictured), from Godophin Bridge graduated from the club's junior section and has competed for the last two years in the Cornwall Road Running group’s Junior Grand Prix.
She showed significant improvements on her personal best times over races of four miles, five miles and 10 kilometres, and trains with Hayle Runners at their Thursday evening session at Carn Brea track.
Club Chairman Andy Moore, who presented Hannah with her trophy, said it was richly deserved.
“Hannah has perserved with her training and has been rewarded by significant improvement in her race times over the last year,” he said.
“She is very determined and it is great to see her picking up one of our main trophies.”
