Wendron 3 Illogan RBL 2
Wendron dealt Combination League title rivals Illogan a psychological blow with a hard-fought 3-2 victory in the league cup at Underlane.
Illogan's miserable afternoon was further compounded by the sending off of Joe Carlyon by referee Kevin Knowles, which meant the visitors finished the afternoon with ten men.
Illogan took the lead at Underlane, but Wendron battled back to win 3-2
The game remained goalless until the 75th minute when Illogan took the lead, only for Wendron to equalise soon after.
Midfielder Chris Mulroy put Wendron 2-1 up, but back came Illogan to equalise as tempers on the pitch began to flare.
But Ben Ambrose, back in the Wendron side after missing the Senior Cup quarter final against Bodmin Town, wrapped up the win for the 'dron in the final few minutes, much to the delight of manager Paul Murray.
