Helston Blues U14s side have been denied the chance to compete for the County Cup after fellow finalists Truro City were forced to pull out at the last minute.
City's U14s side claimed they were unable to field a team for the game, which was set to take place at Penryn Athletic's Kernick Road ground on Sunday, March 23.
Truro had asked the Cornwall FA to allow the game to be put back a fortight, but the suggestion was immediately ruled out, handing the trophy to Helston without a ball being kicked.
Helston chairman Paul Hendy told the Packet the team, who are coached by Helston Athletic midfielder Charlie Young and Porthleven's Ross Wara, were 'incredibly disappointed' by the news.
"The boys have worked so hard to reach the final, and now they've been denied the chance to win the cup fair and square," he said. "It's really disappointing.
"I can understand why the Cornwall FA don't want to put the game back because it sets a precedent, but some of the boys were close to tears when they found out. It's not just about the game, it's the occasion of running out at Penryn's ground for a final. Now they won't get that chance."
Helston Blues played Truro City in the semi-final of the Kernow League Cup a week previously, winning the game on penalties despite being reduced to ten men early on.
