This was another notable win for Penryn against a physical Dobwalls side sitting above them in the table, and well-capable of beating anyone in the league on their day.

It all came down to making a breakthrough at the right time for Steve Jewell's side, who are now unbeaten in their last two outings.

But Dobwalls have proven tricky opposition for Penryn in the past, and can rightly lay claim to being something of a bogey team, having won at Kernick Road last season.

And they started well on Saturday, having one of the best chances of the game in the opening two minutes when striker Harry Hook rolled a great chance just wide of the Penryn goal.

But soon after Penryn went a goal up when Kevin Lawrence, fresh from an excellent performance against Porthleven a week ago, was put through on goal and shaped to shoot.

Dobwalls defender Sean Bromley slid in to cut his shot out, but the ball hit both his hands in the challenge and Penryn were awarded a penalty, which David Broglino tucked away.

Within a minute Dobwalls were level.

It came while Penryn were complaining about a Dobwalls free kick, and Joe Eke took advantage to play a ball across the edge of the Penryn box for Dan Gilbert to hit a low drive inside Chris Symons's left post.

Stung by the equaliser Penryn came back at Dobwalls and opened them up again on the half hour mark.

Greg Hobbs sent a long diagonal ball over to wing back Kieran Faulkner at the far post, but as he was closed out he played a short ball squre for Lawrence who blasted a shot into the back of the net from six yards out.

Firmly in control by now, Penryn started to run through the shell-shocked Dobwalls defence at will, and Lawrence almost added another only to see his shot knocked away.

But it was only a temporary reprieve for Dobwalls. In the very next attack Ryan Chinn put Lawrence through on goal again.

His shot was pushed away by Gilbert, but fell kindly at his feet. Instead of shooting again, Lawrence unselfishly squared the ball for the supporting Greg Hobbs to tap in.

Just after the break Ed Wilton had a gilt-edged chance to put the game out of reach when he found hgimself one on one with gilbert, but the dobwalls keeper did well to make the save.

Penryn had to wait until the 72nd minute for their fourth, as Chinn broke up a Dobwalls attack in midfield, and sent Lawrence clear on the counter.

He in turn played in Wilton, and the Penryn forward kept his cool to drill a shot inside the stranded Gilbert's far post.

Dobwalls pulled one back alomst straight from the restart when ever-present skipper Martyn Hake picked his spot through a crowded goalmouth to reduce the deficit back to two.

But a big day for Penryn was capped with a deserved fifth, and once again Lawrence was involved, receiving a throw-in wide on the lft before feeding the ball through to Broglino, who hammered a superb fifth into the back of the net.
