Bude Town 1 Porthleven 2
Brothers Tom and Jordan Annear struck either side of half time against Bude Town to make it two wins on the bounce for Porthleven.
But both teams finished the game with ten men after Port saw Kyle Frasier forced off with an injury late on javing used all their subs, and Bude had Dan Starkey sent off for a bad foul on Sam Kay.
Dennis Annear's depleted side were without Dan Greet, Freddie Williams, and Chris Blango, but could have scored more against a Bude outfit who held promotion contenders Helston to a 3-3 draw a week ago.
A tame opening saw Frasier fire a free kick just wide of the upright for Port, but for the most part chances were thin on the ground.
Until the 25th minute when a through ball by Thomas Hawkins caught the Bude defence square, and Tom Annear raced clear to thump a fierce drive high into the roof of the net past Bude keeper Gary Dinshaw.
Jordan Annear may have added to Port's tally as the half drew to a close when his snap shot on the turn was well saved by Dinshaw.
And Frasier's bizarre free kick from the half way line almost found the back of the net when it somehow evaded both sets of defenders and came back off the post.
Adam Smith had Bude's best chance of the half when he forced a point-blank save out of Dennis Annear, but the game remained finely poised at the break.
With the wind at their backs Bude were much-improved in the second half.
Smith fired into the side netting from a tight angle, and a Harry Hopcroft corner caused chaos in the Port penalty area.
But the Fishermen had chances of their own, with Liam Hunter seeing his shot whistle over the crossbar after some tidy link up play with Tom Annear.
And it was Tom Annear who was the architect of Port's second goal in the 65th minute, beating three players down the right before cutting inside the 18 yard box and fizzing a low ball across the box for brother Jordan to flick in at the near post.
Starkey's rush of blood to the head came soon after, the defender flying into a challenge on Sam Kay which prompted a straight red from the referee.
But in the 73rd minute Bude clawed a goal back to set up a tense finish, when a Charlie Wotton cross found the head of Chris Hill, who nodded in at the back post.
Frasier's injury cancelled out Port's numerical advantage with the visitors having already used both substitutes.
But in the end they were able to see the game out in relative comfort to secure another well-deserved three points.
Port travel to Penzance on Wednesday looking to make it three in a row for the first time this season.
