Redruth and Penzance have been spared from relegation following Paul's withdrawal from the ECB Cornwall Premier League.

At the end of last season Redruth were relegated to County 1, and Penzance to County 2.

But after Paul annouced their decision to drop out of Cornish cricket's top tier, both clubs have accepted an offer from the league to remain in their respective divisions for the coming season.

In a statement, the league said: "Following the withdrawal of Paul from the ECB Cornwall Premier League the league management have made the following changes for the 2014 season.

"League rules dictate that the divisions may not be altered after February 1, thus avoiding  rewriting the complex fixture schedules across all divisions.

"However, in these exceptional circumstances, the league felt it was essential, if possible, to maintain a full complement of teams in the Higher Tier – ECB Cornwall Premier and County Division 1.

"In accordance with the League Rule 11.1.9.2,  that states if a vacancy occurs a team will not be relegated, Redruth CC have accepted an invitation to remain in the Premier League for 2014.

"Also Penzance C C have accepted a similar invitation to remain in County Division 1. Therefore Division 2 West will have only eleven teams in 2014."

The changes to all five divisions are as follows:

Redruth take over Paul’s fixtures
