BELL'S Court Snooker Club staged one of its best-ever inter-house tournaments over the Chritmas period when 24 players took part in a handicap contest, Unfortunately, it didn't prove such a handicap to Andy Hicks or young Bobby Southworth who dominated the tournament with Andy being the eventual winner.
The club handed out its annual awards with the junior award going to 16-year-old Southworth for his achievments playing in the adult game.
Palyer of the year was John Hendy who turned adversity into triumph. He lost seven successive league games and whilst that might have proved a good time to quit, John kept at it and then won five successive matches.
Members of the year were Andy Jenkin and Anthony Jenkin who committed themselves to all areas of the club during the year such as team snooker, poker, and the social side.
