HAYLE u9s 0pts FALMOUTH u9s 25pts

AFTER six defeats and two draws so far this season, Falmouth u9s travelled to Hayle in search of a victory and celebrated in style with a fine 25 points to nil win.

With a full squad, Falmouth had the advantage of rolling substitutes and the sun shone down in Hayle as Falmouth won the toss and kicked off.

From the outset Falmouth applied pressure and took the game to Hayle. Within the first minute Louis Tomlinson touched down in the left corner to open the scoring for Falmouth.

Falmouth's game plan was to keep the ball in hand and go forward. Half way through the first half Charlie Hatcher took advantage of a spilled ball and charged down the field to run in Falmouth's second try.

Falmouth's defence was strong and the backs kept Hayle out of their half for most of the first period.

Sam Cummins played out of his skin and deserved his late try to put Falmouth ahead 15-0 at half time.

With six replacements in the second half, Falmouth continued to go forward and maintain the pressure. Hayle were unlucky not to score twice in the second half thanks to some excellent tackling and defence from the Falmouth forwards.

Falmouth were determined to hold on for a possible victory and maintained the mindset and aggression and in the dying minutes of the game Charlie Hatcher went on a line run of his own to score his second try with newcomer Oryan Page sealed the game for Falmouth with the fifth try.
