NEWQUAY STORM 1 FALMOUTH TOWN HORNETS 4
FRESH from their 5-2 drubbing of unbeaten team Holman's Harriers, Falmouth Town Hornets went into this game full of confidence which reflected in the final scoreline, writes Sam Heslop-George.
An early lead was reality for the Hornets when a Cameron Wilson cross was finished off by Connor Hedges.
The Hornets managed to gain a two goal cushion when Oliver Headux finished off a scramble in the box, but Newquay looked good on the breaks, and Ashley Rabeyn had to make a wonderful finger-tip save from a lob-shot from Newquay to keep the score at 2-0.
Just before the break, the Hornets were unlucky and disappointed to concede, but after the break, Falmouth improved their performance.
They put their top scorer, Connor Hedges, in goal, freeing Ashley Rabeyn to bolster the defence.
THE Hornets were clearly on top in the second half rounding off a competent display, with two magic goals from Jared Collins. The first was a scramble, but the second was an intricate move from a corner, involving Harry Lewis and Sam Heslop-George, before Jared let rip into the top corner.
A solid performance was rewarded with three crucial points for the Hornets and setting them up for the second half of the campaign!
