HELSTON u12s 5pts FALMOUTH u12s 56pts

FALMOUTH u12s travelled to Helston on Sunday for their first game since playing before the Christmas break.

The early rain had cleared to leave a perfect morning for running rugby and Falmouth duly obliged putting winger George Leakey over in the corner after a good three-quarter move in the first minute.

Helston never gave up, tackling and counter-attacking throughout and earning a deserved consolation try a few minutes from the end.

But it was Falmouth who dominated, rucking better than for all the season and running from all parts of the field.

The tries were scored in a variety of fashion which showed Falmouth's strengths in all areas. Man of the Match Grant Burrows ran in two long distance efforts, George Vincent touched down twice after trademark jinking runs and Olver Stick, on the other wing, bagged a couple with some swift running round the outside after good handling in midfield.

The other try was a forward effort completed by No. 8 Angus Mackinnon.

There were much improved performances from Falmouth in all quarters which the coaches hope will be built on from the forthcoming tough fixtures against Truro and Redruth.

Falmouth squad: Caspar Fuller, Jack Stephens, George Leakey, Freddie Tomlinson, George Vincent, Jack Reed, Oliver Stick, Charlie Conchie, Alex Bullock, Will James, Harry Spargo, Charlie Sanders, Ruairi Dunn, Joseph Parry, Matthew Tredget, Angus Mackinnon, Grant Burrows, Louis Bamford, Toby Cumins.
