PORTUGUESE brothers Hedie and TT dos Santos have had a positive impact on Helston Athletic since joining – according to club boss Sid Taylor.
The African-born pair arrived at Kellaway Park in November after playing for Continental Stars in the Midlands and Grupo Desportivo in their native country.
Since coming to Athletic, elder brother Hedie has featured in the first team squad several times including an impressive display on Saturday in their 5-0 win over Bude Town in the South West Peninsula League West.
Meanwhile 19-year-old TT has been playing in the reserves team where he caught the eye with a couple of man-of-the-match performances.
Taylor praised the efforts put in by the duo since they signed for the Blues saying it has been good for the team to have them around the squad.
He said: “It hasn’t been the easy of starts for both of them, particularly Hedie who is a midfielder but has been filling in at right back for us lately.
“But he has a lot of speed and trickery in his game which has been good to have down the wing and he’s getting where he likes to be on the pitch.
“TT has also been doing well with the reserves and he’ll be pushing for a first team spot and it shows how positive the pair have been for us.
“When you consider we’ve got a few players on the sidelines for various reasons at the moment too so when they come back in, there’ll be lots of competition for places.
“That will be a big benefit for the club.”
