FALMOUTH COLTS 0pts PENZANCE COLTS 28pts ALWAYS up against the odds, on reflection this was not a bad result by Falmouth to hold the tidy visitors to such a low margin.
Penzance came to pile on the points, remembering the 88-0 margin on the first encounter in October, but Falmouth played with a lot of spirit and it took 20 minutes for the visitors to break the line. Helped by some excellent tackling, it prevented what could have been a rout, but eventually the inevitable happened with Penzance No 8 Allan Benton being the prime mover and scoring three of the six conceived tries.
There was some great work by Falmouth hooker and man of the match David Morgan who stole much of the visiting ball and prevented further scores. Half backs Ben Wilson and Tom Honey also did well considering the lack of quality ball.
Versatile Ben Warwicker has worked hard at his game and played in three positions, along with Luke Allen, both proving to be team players. So keep it up, there is improvement with every game.
The next game is the u18's Club's Cup, Hell-Fal home to Bodmin. Meet at the Recreation Ground 12.30pm. Kick off is 2pm.
Falmouth: Thomas Giggs, Ben Woodman, Ben Ambrose, Russell Ansary, Jonathon Spurgeon, Thomas Honey, Ben Wilson, Harry Martin, David Morgan, Luke Allen, Toby Mears, Ben Warwicker, Ashley Searle, Ben Bettison, Jacob Stephens.
