A BUMPER weekend was had by Porthleven as they blasted Millbrook for six on Saturday.
Jordan Annear fired in a hat-trick for the Fishermen, who were without his father Dennis in the dugout at Gala Parc as he was away.
Someone who was back for the hosts though was Chris Blango after the striker had been away on RFA Argus serving with the Navy.
He showed no signs of rustiness and bagged the sixth goal for Port, with Dan Tarrant and Chris Wormington also getting on the scoresheet.
Millbrook came into the match with a slight air of confidence about them having played well a week earlier against Helston Athletic.
They lost 3-0, but this was a vast improvement from their 16-1 drubbing earlier in the season.
However, they could not bring up the same performance again and were left blown away as Port banged in four before the half hour mark.
Annear did not take long to open the scoring with an excellent run from the edge of the centre circle in the fifth minute getting him into the box and firing into the net.
Tarrant doubled the lead ten minutes later when he whistled home a shot from just outside the penalty area after Liam Hunter’s corner was only half cleared.
Chris Wormington battles to win the ball for Porthleven.
Chances were coming thick and fast for the hosts and Annear got his second in the 18th minute as he met James Greet’s cross from the right flank at the far post.
Brook’s stuffing had been knocked out of them by this point and matters only got worse when full-back Wormington rose highest at a corner to nod home.
In the second half, the tempo dropped a touch with the game already seemingly out of the visitor’s reach.
Any chance of a meteoric comeback were put to bed seven minutes after the break when Annear completed his hat-trick as he shrugged off three defenders and blasted a shot in.
Lapse defending cost Port a clean sheet though just after the hour mark as Brook earned some consolation.
Will Matthews was allowed to sprint down the right wing and cross into the box, with James Row popping up to slide the ball past Tom Annear, who was deputising in home goal for the day with regular keeper Benji Bryant unavailable.
This did very little to stem the flow in favour of Port and with three minutes left, Blango provided a happy ending for his first game back.
Freddie Williams sent a ball towards 16-year-old Blake Brown, who then nodded it on for the striker to hammer home.
PORTHLEVEN: T Annear (c), Wormington (Roberts 63), Heywood, Tarrant, Williams, Hunter (Brown 65), D Greet (J Greet 61), Best, Orchard, Blango, J Annear.
Players watch as Chris Wormington's header makes it 4-0 in the 27th minute.
