CONFUSED was how Wendron United boss Paul Murray felt at half time during Saturday’s encounter with St Agnes.
In what was a third versus fourth place battle, Dron started the Jolly’s Combination League clash the better, but found themselves 2-0 down after 35 minutes at Underlane.
Both the Saints’ goals came from their main man upfront Thadeus Vingoe, who grabbed his 30th and 31st league goals of the season.
However, the hosts staged a comeback and were back on level terms by half time before Luke Wort smashed home a winner with 20 minutes to go.
Murray said: “It was a bit confusing really as we had played really well but had gone 2-0 down.
“When we went in at half time, I honestly did not know what to say to the lads really.
“It was a case of do we stick with things how they are or do we push someone back to manage the threat of Vingoe?”

The scoring was opened by the Saints’ leading striker when he got on the end of a cross from the right flank before making two tremendous touches to get clear of Justin Miles and Chris Madeley.
This allowed Vingoe the time to fire a shot past John Row and in the 35th minute he double the lead when an awful back pass went straight to him.
With just the goalkeeper to beat, Vingoe made no mistake.
Dron immediately mounted their comeback bid with Wort and Jason Roberts pulling the strings upfront.
It was the latter who pulled the first goal back for the home side when he reacted quickest to a mistake by visiting goalkeeper Ryan Ball, who dropped a cross into the box.
Steve Brewer got the equaliser for Dron with a superb strike from just outside the penalty area after shrugging off a couple of challenges.
Having lost their lead, the wind appeared to be taken out of the Saints’ sails and in the 70th minute, Wort completed the fight back from a free kick.
