DAN Code, the tournament director of the Cornwall Poker Tour, is donating all his winnings from this season to the children's ward at Treliske and another good run saw him make the final table with a host of other tour regulars.
The final table saw Dan and Jamie Mcknight, who both held the biggest chip stacks, lock horns in a pot that proved decisive in the eventual outcome.
Dan almost had Jamie on the ropes early on when he check called Jamie'' all in on a flop of A5J with A5, Jamie had A6 and was looking like losing most of his chips, especially when the turn was a blank 8. The river brought salvation with a Jack meaning the pot was split.
Jamie quickly established a massive chip lead, picking off the rest of the players and knocking Dave Randall out in fourth and "syndicate" member Mark Bannister in third. Jamies' chip lead proved to much for Dan to overcome and for the second time in two weeks he had to be content with the runners up spot.
The charity fund is now up to £111. Cornwall Poker Tour hold events at Falmouth Town FC every Wednesday, for more details visit www.cornwallpokertour.com or call 07809677422.
