CAMBORNE SoM 4

ST AGNES III 0

CAMBORNE School of Mines put in an fine home performance to beat a nine-man St Agnes side 4-0 in the One and All sports Mining League division two on Saturday.

Goals from Will Hamnett, Lee Richardson, Tom Morgan and Mike Cumner-Price saw off the depleted away side, hit by injuries and absences .

CSM took the lead on the half hour through striker Hamnett, who tucked away an unmissable chance after Richardson beat three players down the right before crossing.

Controlling the rest of the first period, CSM continued their domination into the second half and only an inspired performance by St Agnes goalkeeper Thomas Thorpe kept his side in the game.

Despite Thorpe's efforts it took only seven minutes of the second half before St Agnes conceded again with Richardson firing home after a cross was deflected into his path.

More chances followed for CSM with Cumner-Price, Hamnett and midfielders Chris Long and John East all going close.

CSM's third arrived on the hour. A superb cross from Sam Davis found defender Tom Morgan, who glanced his header past Thorpe from close range.

Cumner-Price added the fourth to seal the win, tucking a shot into the corner from 14 yards.

"They only had nine men which meant they had to sit deeper and work hard in defence," said Cumner-Price. "We had to exploit the space and break them down, and I think we did that. It was a decent team performance."
