CLUB captain Barry Williams won the Easter Stableford at Budock Vean Golf course on Sunday with a fine haul of 39 points including 20 points on the back nine.
He finished three points ahead of runner up Andrew Varney and five ahead of third placed Nick Bryant.
It was another day of mostly poor scoring despite the near perfect conditions. Remarkably, the standard scratch for the second week running was one above the par for the course with only two players playing to par or better.
The ladies also found scoring difficult despite the glorious sunshine on Wednesday. The L.G.U. medal was keenly contested, however, and Barbara Barlow won on countback from Ann Martin, both carding net 74s. Barbara Craig took third place with a net 75.
This Sunday the men play for the EGU Gold Medal with a back nine two's roll-over in place.
