THE qualifying round for the PGA National Pro-am Championship took place at Falmouth Golf Club when conditions were relatively good in the morning but rapidly deteriorated in the afternoon.
The eventual winner would accompany Falmouth professional Nick Rogers to Saunton Sands Golf club on the May 10 to take part in the regional finals.
Dave Cuffin returned the best score of the day with a splendid 42 points, Simon Hirst was second with 39 points and Alan Goldsmith was third with 38 points.

A monthly stableford competition was played on Saturday and 70 members entered. Conditions were ideal, a stark contrast from the previous week!
Jason Pledger was the run-away winner with an awesome 47 points, Scott Pedlar was second with a very respectable 42 points and Tony Schorah was third with 41 points.

The final of the Richardson trophies was played on Sunday and 13 pairs took part in the competition, to qualify for the final. The entrants had to have played in at least two mixed greensome competitions.
Conditions were not good early in the morning and the course was actually closed for a while due to fog, but thankfully conditions improved and it turned out a glorious day.
John Ratcliffe and Kathy Kelly were the eventual winners with a fine 40 points, Gerry Storey and Angela Cortis were second with 39 points and club president Mike Goodwin and Wynn Woolcock were third with 38 points.
