PENRYN RFC under 11's have had their best season to date which finished with a hard-fought battle against Winscombe last Saturday followed by two resounding victories against Falmouth and Wadebridge last Sunday.
Against Winscombe Penryn were well below par, but still managed to stop a very well-drilled side from scoring against them.
Having been beaten by Penryn only a few weeks earlier, 49-7, the Winscombe coaches felt that their team's performance was the best of the season.
Sunday saw a "round robin" at Falmouth with Wadebrige also attending.
Penryn proved too strong against Falmouth, running in seven unanswered tries. Falmouth did put together some very good passages of play, but defence wins matches and the Penryn boys didn't miss any tackles.
Wadebridge proved to be slightly stronger opposition, but Penryn ran in four unanswered tries.
Due to the size of the Penryn under 11 squad they have been able to play 26 games in total this season. Of these they have won 23, drawn 3 and lost none. They have scored 805 points and only conceded 106. They have not been beaten at home since November 2004 which is a magnificent achievement.
Top try scorer this season was Kyle Laycock with 22, Kyran Coulls coming second with 14 and Bradley Aimiable coming third with 13.
Top points scorer was Rory Christopher who scored 210 points (eight tries and 85 out of 88 conversions).
