ALMOST at the end of the Penryn and Falmouth Winter Pool League season, in the first division of Old EPA Rules, Wendron CC pulled off a shock 6-3 win over leaders Woodlane SC A with Steve Varker and Scotty Harris gaining wins over Les Rundle and Steve Jose.
Trelowarren Arms closed the gap to six points with a 5-4 win over third placed Clipperway B and Penryn Bowling Club got back to better form with an 8-1 win over Falmouth Town SC. Workingman's were the other winners 7-2 over Falmouth CC.
Seaview remain top in the second division thanks to a 6-3 win over St Gluvias CC A, Seven Stars Penryn move up to second with a 6-3 win over Penryn AFC, while the Cross Keys move up two places with a 5-4 win over Boslowick A.
Third division leaders Prince of Wales stay five points clear after winning 7-2 against the Wodehouse Arms, Penryn RFC remain second after a 6-3 win over the Wodehouse Legs and Constantine SC A won the local derby match 5-4.
In the World Rules Division, Penryn Bowling Club return to the top with a 9-6 win over Penryn AFC, Famous Barrel A pulled off a shock 9-6 win over Killigrew A while Killigrew B won 9-6 against Famous Barrel B. There were no result cards from Labour Club v Mawnan Sports. A reminder to World Rules teams that the last of the league fees to be paid by this Sunday.
