PERRANARWORTHAL were well beaten by nine wickets by Grampound road seconds in the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League division two county final played at Wadebridge on Saturday.

Grampound Road skipper Alan Lund devastated the Perran innings to take six for 32. At one point, after Jim Spiers had made 31, Perran slipped to 87 for 8 in the 32nd over.

However, Gareth Davis (39) and Adrian Moore (34no) gained some respectability to see the total up to 162 all out off the penultimate ball. After losing Dave Wilton for 10 Tom Hughes and Pete Emery both hit 74 not out in an unbroken stand of 111 for the "Road."

The winning runs came with 20 overs to spare.
