PENRYN Athletic chalked up another victory against Wendron in the Jolly's Combination League to remain on the fringe of the title race.
In an entertaining game at Kernick, Athletic's passing game was very good and they took the lead when Darren Martin's shot sailed over the goalkeeper and into the net.
Athletic snapped up a second goal when Robbie Canale turned and struck a great volley over the 'keeper following good work by David Thompson and Daniel Knowles.
The home side were enjoying the lion's share of possession and were denied a third goal when the 'keeper blocked Mark Kent's shot.
Tony Harris almost got Wendron back into the game when his shot hit the crossbar and then Anthony Williams had a shot well saved by Chris Symons.
Wendron were enjoying \ purple patch and Symons had to be alert to deny both James Wilcox and Luke Murray.
Thompson and Kent both went close to scoring for Athletic following good work by Martin and Glen Jeffery.
Athletic wrapped up the points with a third goal when Laurie Magowan sent over a cross for Thompson to set up Kent to shoot past the 'keeper.
